D-day was the day the allies (England and USA) started they attack on German forces in occupied Europe . All of the solders crossed the English Channel in boats called landin craft . A fierce battle happened on the beaches of Normandy .Hittlers army was pushed back from the coast and the allied army began to free the people of Europe from the German occupation. It changed our history as it meant that England would not become a German country if Germany attacked again. D-day was the start of the end of WW2 In Europe. The battle in Normandy was not easy because the beaches were covered in German machine guns and cannons .

On June 6, 1944 the Allied Forces of Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France. With a huge force of over 150,000 soldiers, the Allies attacked and gained a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe. This famous battle is sometimes called D-Day or the Invasion of Normandy. Leading up to the BattleGermany had invaded France and was trying to take over all of Europe including Britain. However, Britain and the United States had managed to slow down the expanding German forces. They were now able to turn on the offensive.

The 6th of June 1944 was D-Day the day of many British, American , Australian , French and German lives would be lost . They all were heading for the beaches of Normandy to fight for their countries it was Imperative that they won or Hitler would have world domination . In Britain they laid inflatable tanks as deco`s and that's how they got on to the beaches of Normandy .

D - day all started when Germany said that they wanted to rule the whole world. Of course people protested against this including Britain, Canada and France. And later on in the war America came in when Japan bombed them. D - day started on June the 16th 1944 this stopped the World cup for a couple of years so that's one of the reasons that I hate world war 2 .

D-Day 1944, visit the Normandy Beaches, as they were in 1944 and as they are at the present time. The Normandy people are very thankful for the Great sacrifices of the Allied Forces and have created a living history tour of all the Battlefields of Normandy.
