Wherever you are in the world, I’m sure you cannot have missed all the action that is happening in South America!
The prompt this week is: …but that’s what happens in Brazil when… You can write about anything as long as your pieces of writing make sense. People also like to match stories with famous people. Like footballers. For instance, Luis Suarez has been portrayed as a modern day Dracula for some reason.
Can you think of a famous person – a footballer, for instance – who is a bit like a character from a famous book or film? It doesn't have to be exactly the same. Suarez: Dracula. Rooney: Shrek. Can you think of another? Your task is to think of a book or film character and match them with a famous person. Then to write a blurb for the story. For example: Centuries ago a strange breed of humans – the vampires – lived in Transylvania. Then they disappeared. Everyone thought they had gone forever, until a scientist discovered a new breed of vampires, deep in the forests of Uruguay. Their name? Suarez!!!!! For this week’s prompt, we have got another of those wonderful photos from the talented Jane Hewitt. Before you start, you will have to make some decisions about what is real size and that will then influence your story! Make sure you really think imaginatively. Choose your 100 words carefully and make sure you pay some attention to your punctuation.
The prompt for this week is a simple one! It is:
…but where could I go… Make sure you really think about your story and use your 100 words wisely. Please ensure that you focus on your punctuation this week and don't forget capital letters! On June 6th 1944, thousands of Allied troops began landing on the beaches of Normandy in northern France. Why were they there? What was happening at the time? Why is it a significant turning point in our history? Share your answers.
