Today was a very important day because the first English Astronaut to travel from Earth to the international space station that is in orbit around the earth took place. The astronaut, Major Tim Peake has now done a space walk outside the space station and repaired a solar panel that generated power for the space station.
The space station orbits the earth every 90 minutes and the wings are the size of an articulated waggon. The other astronaut is called Tim Kopra, they had to cut the space walk short because Kopra had water in his helmet so they stopped it.

The amazing Tim Peake, the a astronaut, went into space to complete the space walk. He was the first British astronaut to do the space walk in history. He was fine to travel in the rocket and space craft but it was still along way from Earth. Well he knows that the NASA space station orbits the Sun. I found out how they drank water in space and it is so cool.

At 1 o’clock on Friday the 15th of January 2016 Tim Peake travelled up to space. He has gone to space because he is doing a spacewalk. Tim Peake joined NASA in 2009 and is the first British Astronaut to do a spacewalk. It took him around 6 and half hours to fix the space station. While doing the spacewalk Tim Peake would see the sunrise and sunset every 45 mins because of the speed the station orbits the earth (around 17,000mph). There were Millions of people from around the whole world watching this amazing history. Well done Tim Peake.

WEIGHTLESS WALK
On Friday 15th of January Tim Peake became the first British astronaut to travel into space to perform a space walk. He did this whilst fixing the NASA space station which was making an orbit round the Earth at a speed of 17,150 miles per hour. He was supposed to spend 6 and a half hours in space before entering the shuttle to return but he had to enter early due to problems with the absorbent padding in his helmet. He stated on twitter “ Today’s exhilarating #spacewalk will be etched in my memory forever-quite an incredible feeling!”

Dear diary,
Tomorrow, I am blasting into the ORBIT of EARTH. I’m really excited. I am officially a new ASTRONAUT! I will TRAVEL in a rocket! I have never blasted off in a rocket before (well, I’ve been in one before to train, of course.) In about twelve hours, I will be viewing the big Earth, longing to get started. I am going to SPACE because of the solar panel. A bit has cracked. I will need to have a look at it to see if I need to glue it together or place an extra piece on the end.

It was an early morning and Tim Peake was ready to travel into space, to do his space walk. Everyone was counting down 3, 2, 1... wushhh! Tim’s spaceship zoomed into the air. Tim’s spaceship quickly passed through orbit. He was so high up he could see the entire earth. Tim wasn’t scared because he was a professional astronaut. As soon as he passed the sun he was allowed to turn the brightness back on his camera. They had to turn it off so that Tim and the Russian astronaut wouldn’t get electrocuted. He is still travelling through space now.

The British astronaut (Tim Peaks) was the first British astronaut to successfully complete a spacewalk while orbiting the earth .while he travelled around the outside of the space station for six and a half hours trying to fix all eight power generators with some help from Tim cobra his helper. The mission was pulled early because Tim Cobra had found some water floating round in his visor of his space suit so they both reported straight back inside to get depressurised and also to take all of the layers of his big white space suit!

Tim Peake is the first official British astronaut displaying the union flag on his space suit. The travel to orbit was taking a long time. Tim showed people how to drink in space it was different to earth.
Tim was going to repair the 8 generators that are now off online. The mission would take 6 hours, however Tim’s crew mate had a water bubble in his helmet so they had to abort the mission 1 hour early. Nasa has confirmed although they came back early it was a successful mission.
Tim will never forget his first mission in space

Yesterday at 13:10 a man named Tim Peake went up to space with some other astronauts from Rusher. when they were traveling it was really hard to keep balanced because there was no gravity. They traveled to the solar system whilist other planets were orbiting around the Earth. He was our first British astronaut to go to space for a mission that seamed unreal. He went to fix a solar panel on the space station. The mission was cut short because one of the astronauts had a tiny water bubble in his helmet and it started to get bigger so the went back to the space ship.

On Friday 15th January Major Tim Peake was the first British ASTRONAUT to do the spacewalk but they finished the walk early because the US colleague had a leak in his cooling system. The SPACE station's ORBIT is 400 kilometres above the EARTH. The Space station was launched on November 20 th 1998 and is used for studying space and scientific experiments. It takes at least two days to TRAVEL to the Space station. Tim will be living on the Space station for 173 days with two crew mates. His family will miss him😭! I wouldn't like to go to space because of all the risks and dangers.
Homework. I hope you like it.

"Hello and welcome to Galaxy News. We are updating you on the latest space news. A few days ago, Tim Peake the first British astronaut to travel out of the Earths orbit and into space, landing on the international space station, started a space walk with his colleague Tim Kopra an American astronaut. While doing the space walk Tim Kopra noticed small water droplets forming in his helmet. This was because the cooling system leaked and once the absorbing pad was full the leaking started to fill Tim's helmet. What we don't understand is why this happened again, when it had happened before and was supposed to be fixed. This was very dangerous for the astronaut, Tim Peake was able to get both of them safely back into the space station. What a relief, that is the latest information for now. On the 15th January, Major Tim Peake became the first British astronaut to perform a space walk. Tim Peake joined NASA in 2012 and has been training with the European Space Agency for this mission since then.
He travelled to International Space Station, with two other astronauts to carry out repair work on solar panels that provide power for the space station. The space station needs power to help it orbit the Earth. The space station orbits the earth once every 92 minutes.
Tim’s space walk lasted just over 5 hours but it had to be postponed because the other astronaut, Tim Kopra had water in his space helmet.
Tim Peake is a true British hero and the whole country is very proud of him.

Homework

The space station has orbited the Earth and Tim Peake, the British astronaut, has returned inside the station because his American partner (Timothy Kopra) reported a leak in his helmet. Later they discovered it was actually his cooler that broke. The mission they had to complete which was repairing a solar panel; was finished even though they had to cut the job short. The space station traveled 295 miles above Earth and Tim has snapped a selfie and posted it on Twitter. Tim Peake is preparing to live for 6 months in space without seeing his family in person.

One day, a boy named Tim was dreaming of becoming an astronaut. He dreamed he would one day orbit the Earth at supersonic speed and possibly take a stroll in open space. He would nag his parents to build him cardboard rockets in which he would travel to his Grandma's house . Unlike the other children at school, Tim would like to spend time adventuring and using his imagination. As he grew older, his dream never left him. He would train hard and stay healthy, just in case he would achieve his goal. 25 years later, his dream finally came true.

A few days ago, Tim Peake the first official U.K astronaut offered to do an amazing travel up to space. Earth is the third closest planet to the sun, first and second are mercury and Venus. The reason why Tim went to space was to fix a tile on the satellite system. The Earth dose an orbit around the sun and the moon does an orbit around the Earth. Tim Peake’s mission was cut short because Tim’s partner he was up there with found a water bubble in his helmet and he thought it was going to start to leak.

Tim Peak is the first British astronaut to travel from Earth to space to perform a Spacewalk. He has spent six years training for the mission. He blasted into orbit aboard the Soyuz rocket and said that he was “loving every minute” of his first few days on the International Space Station. He will spend six months orbiting the planet with other astronauts, all from different countries. Tim Peak’s mission is to improve our understanding of science and technology and to help inspire children’s interest. One of his other missions is to fix the damaged solar panels during his spacewalk.

One day the famous astronaut, Mr Tim Peake, is about to make history and travel up into Space. Once in orbit the plan was to fix the satellite system that orbits the earth.
This has been an amazing experience for Tim Peake as he has been able to view earth from afar something that very few people are able to do.
