This week I want you to think about another sense – taste. Just think of all the delicious or unpleasant things we eat. The prompt is:
…but it made my tongue tingle… Make sure you think about your writing before you publish and really make it as imaginative as you can. Please check your spelling and punctuation.

Today I went to an amazing food festival. There were lots of stalls. There was one stall and it was a hot pepper challenge. The quest is to eat 5 hot peppers in 30 seconds. My friend dared me to do the horrific challenge. I said "no way" my friend laughed and walked to another stalls. The next morning my friend and I walked back down to the food festival. That awful challenge was still there and my friend said "come on this is the last day the food festival " so I said " ok " so I tried it. The first one was ok but second one was bit more spicy the third one was easy but the forth one was so spicy that I ran round the whole festival screaming but the final one was the easiest.

Well done Henry. You have used a range of openers. Don't forget to punctuate your speech where necessary.

It’s time. Oh no here it comes “ouch!” Is it over? I open one of my eyes to see a gigantic hole in my arm; it’s the size of a rock. The easing pane slowly calms down as the nurse try’s to comfort me by saying ‘that was alright, wasn’t it? No need to be scared’ I replied in a shaky voice “but it made my tongue tingle” ‘apparently’ it was one of the side effects but I tried not to listen. My sister is not scared of needles so when she got hers done she didn’t moan at all. How do people cope with them?

One day a girl called Ella got a sweetie in her sock for Christmas and she tried to eat it but she hated it! A few days later something happened to her tongue and it started to tingle and she went downstairs to tell her mum and said "my tongue hurts" and mum replied "don't worry" "but my tongue started to tingle" trying to convince her mum to get of school.

On my way home, in the woods there was a feast with lots of goods. I searched around the table while I was tucking in there was a grizzly bear coming my way I thought what nice company to stay it seemed like it was lasting forever but he picked me up and stayed together. Near the woods I adventured with my friend he saw a house on the edge of the bend I looked inside to see a drink that was fizzy enough to make me sink I drank it all up but made my tongue tingle and the tingle, tingled forever!

It was a sunny Monday morning in the six week holidays my aunty, Sarah, was off, but she needed milk for tonight's dinner. So I asked her if I could get it at the corner shop. I was really nervous because this was my first time going there. Sarah gave me £2.50 when it was only £1. So I ran to the corner shop and saw the milk in the fridge on the third row, my aunty always bought green milk so I did. Then I moved to the sweets near the second row and I picked the delicious caramel wafer.

One day I thought for going to the cafe for lunch. So I warked down the path and when I got there I ordered a hot chocolate.I went and sat down and a few minutes later my hot chocolate was ready to drink.I drank a bit but it made my tongue tingle. It was a horrible drink never taste that again ever I will tell my freinds. I walked home again and made a drink of coffee and watched television and said" I am never going to that cafe again " and she never did ...

It was a Sunday afternoon and my mam was busy in the kitchen chopping vegetables for dinner. I asked her if she could help me with my homework. She cut me a piece of onion and I had a smell of it, it made my eyes water. Then I put it on my tongue and took a bite, it felt slimy and made a crunching noise. My mouth was on fire but it made my tongue tingle. I spat the piece of onion out and had a big glass of water from the tap to cool down my mouth. Mam said she was doing spicy chicken for tea to go with it, I don't think I'll be trying that !!!

We have all tasted weird but wonderful things. But today I'm tasting sweets from around the world, I hope it will be nice. The first thing is from England,I didn't know what it was but it made my tongue tingle, it was possible popping candy. The second one is from China and it was long,it was like a Chinese version of a strawberry cable. The third one I didn't like it so I spat it out, it was liquorice. That's all for today,I will try to do something like this in the future. Byeeeee!

It was a bright and sunny morning. I have only lived in this house for one hour. While my dad was putting stuff away, my mam and I went to the local shop. I wanted to buy a Freddo bar with space dust in but it made my tongue tingle and I shuddered. Being kind, I bought one also for my friend Jamie-Lee as I was going to her house for tea and wanted to shock her. When I arrived at her house her face was a picture as she bit into the chocolate. I rolled around the floor laughing loudly, tears streaming down my face.

It is lovely but it made my tongue tickle". "That sounds nice." Everyone else eat and some pulled faces I was sat there staring at my plate I was thinking to my self what should I do with it can I put it in the bin after all know one would see me, but instead I decided to eat it after all it wasn't that bad it just made my tongue tingle.

Moving from year four to year five has been a big change for me. New teachers, new topics and a whole new start, year five has been giving me confidence. So far, all of the subjects we have started, I have understood and been interested in. I’m hoping as the year goes on I can improve on my maths. Having Mr. Turner as a teacher is great, he’s giving me lots of different tips witch is also helping me. In year five I am trying to push my self so finally we can make a start to the new school year.
