100 word challenge #24

9/5/2015

After yesterday's trip to the DLI Museum, I thought it would be good if we completed a challenge on the day itself.

I would like you to include the following words within your writing.

remember....hope....victory

Remember to use these within the 100 words. We will be writing recounts on Monday, so this will be a great start, if you do complete it this weekend.

Enjoy the weekend!

Yesterday we were due for a class trip to the DLI museum to REMEMBER VICTORY in Europe day we climbed aboard the VIP mini coach and of we went. There was lots to do with world war 1 and 2,we all learnt what it would of been like to live in conflict we learnt about a soldier called George Fraser from the first world war. He was guarding a bridge in Belgium he was one of the few soldiers with him and he was shot in the leg 3 times and retreated to a nearby field where he saw a injured soldier and a nearby wheel barrow he lowered the soldier in to the wheel barrow, whilst limping, he transported him to a nearby hospital.George was awarded the Victoria cross.

On the 8thMay class 5 went to the DLI museum to REMEMBER the VICTORY in Europe after the Second World War. Thousands of people died in the Second World War, we saw lots of weapon like rifles, swords, grenades and lots more. Some of us got to wear army jackits, they were so heavy. But then some one found a tin with food in, that had never been opened since World War Two.

It was a brilliant day I HOPE we go there more often.

As we climbed onto the bus a squirm of excitement went though all of us. It wasn't that long a journey and everybody was talking and having fun on the bus. Finally we arrived we walked through the doors and put all of our belongings in the yellow bin. We raced up the stone stairs into the education room and sat down at a table. There were lots of things to do you could try on army costumes, try holding a rifle, learn about what children would have in the war to entertain themselves and lots more... Then we went to the exhibition area and completed a quiz. We made paper Poppy's one for peace one for rememberance and one for the animals. After that we met Eddie who taught us about about artefacts of world war 2 and he taught us about a leopard skin. We played on the truck and the huge army tanks and pretended to shoot each other it was so much fun. We went downstairs to the shop and had a look around unfortunately I left my money on the stand at my front door so all I did was look. On the way back to school we played with the toys we bought and had a lot of fun when we arrived back at school we were all laughing. I really enjoyed the trip and I'd like to do something like it again.

One morning at Escomb school, we went on a trip with the whole class. I was sat next to Katie, she kept me company. When we arrived the class went inside with Mr.Turner and talked to one of the people that were telling us about WW2 and WW1. They told us that they still had guns and clothes from 70 years today thats victory to hear! It was a hope that everyone survived but they didn’t. But did most? Near the end we went to the shop and in a tank that still worked today it’s a day to remember!

Do you REMEMBER the Great War? It was a powerful memory towards the elder who were involved in this travesty of life. You may have a family member such as grandparents and ancestors if you do then think about the word ‘HOPE’. That was what everybody thought about in this war; all they hoped for was VICTORY in Europe. Fortunately we did win; it was one of the most extreme events. With War the world is a harrowing place, if only it didn’t exist! Just look back at the soldiers who died for us yet they all knew how dangerous it would be.

All of my class were in non-uniform. I was on the bus with all of my class, we were going to the DLI museum. Finally we were there. We walked in and we were introduced to our leader, Carolyn. She explained what we were doing and were we would be going. We were celebrating Britons VICTORY of ww2. We were learning about ww2 and REMEMBERING the soldiers who fought for us. So then we went into the education room. I HOPED to be in Caitlin's group. We were trying the world war 2 clothes on and holding guns it was so fun!

As we got of the bus and headed towards the door it was shut, well we were earlier than expected. But as we were waiting patiently outside we saw another school inside and we hoped that we could get in like the time if I REMEMBER correctly when England had HOPE to go on and win the war. Anyway the doors opened and a lady came to see us she was the lady that was going to be leading us around the museum, before she did that she asked us some questions one of the several questions she asked was "What does VE stand for". Somebody in my class put there hand up and replied "it stands for VICTORY over Europe".

One Friday morning I went to school and I had a packlunch with me because my class and I were going on a school trip to the DLI museum in Durham. We looked at some of the facts and the guns all of them are from the world war 1 and the world war 2 it was really fun we got into groups and we all went onto a table there was loads of army food and costumes signalling things and kids toys like yoyos and old fassioned glasses there were tiny tank tops and lots of other diffrent things.
We all talked about how England had VICTORY against the
Germans after that all of us looked at the uniforms to REMEMBER how they changed from red to camourflarge. When the world war 2 started we all had HOPE we would win.

A good effort Luke. You have retold the events of our class trip. Check the section where you stated 'England had victory'. Does this make sense? Always remember to check back through your work.

On the 8th May we went to the DLI Museum to learn more interesting facts about world war 2. Before the activities began we asked questions about what we were doing at the fun museum and talked about what we already knew about the war. I REMEMBER that we did an important quiz and thought it was well informed and let us guess the answers. There were different objects on the table and we had to choose if it was women's clothing. I learned a lot about all of the war and the great VICTORY in succeeding. I HOPE to return one day.

On Friday the 8th May was victory over Europe day. Class 5 went to the D.L.I museum. We learnt about the ww1 and ww2. We got into groups in the first session and we went to a table. In our groups we talked about the things on the table and what they used them for and they had a belt with all the food and drinks so they didn't die. Next we went for a tour around the museum and went behind the scenes in our groups

VE Day is the day when VICTORY in Europe came in the Second World War. On Friday our class went to DLI to learn about the war. We had to REMEMBER diffenent objects and then write them down on a piece of paper. We learnt about the war in Japan and Germany, China and Great Britain. It was interesting learning about how they must of felt at that time. We had to make posters which were based on the world war, this was called propaganda. I HOPE you enjoyed this little review.

Today was an exciting day, we were visiting the dli museum, it was VE Day .Remember...hope...victory were the special words we were focusing on. The things I found most interesting about our trip were when got to sit in real life world war tanks and also when we got to go behind the scenes where they decide and find out what everything that gets put in the museum is.It was a fantastic day I loved it.
