For this week's 100 word challenge I would like you to think about our rocket building challenge from this morning. You must include the following words:

You were all fantastic today! I will be adding photos of the day to accompany the challenge.

Today somebody from Bishop Barrington to make rockets made out of bottles. We decorated our rockets and then, we went outside to see whose could go in the sky highest. Ours flew up into the sky, did a little twel then landed again.

Well done Guy! You have retold the events of the day including the challenge words. I like how you have used a range of shorter/ longer sentences. Remember that all names must start with a capital letter.

One day mum and dad decided we would go on holiday. I was scared as it was my first time on an airplane so I told my mum She replied saying "don't worry it will be ok we're going to Florida so be excited". I then had butterflies. Then we went to check in, where we gave our tickets! But mum and dad were gone! I thought they might be on the plane. The lady asked "where's your mum and dad?" What could I do to find them as I saw an airplane fly into the sky!

You have retold another story but that is fine Lucy. I like how you have included dialogue within the writing and used short sentences for effect. Try to use the challenge words exactly as they are set.

During the week we built some rockets with someone from bishop Barrington school from the design and technology department. We created our rockets out of a simple empty bottle then we created the cone of our bottle rocket and decorated it with felt tips and the most vital tool of the task the big brain to get through the session and complete our mission, after that we went outside and launched our rockets as our rocket flew up into the sky done a twirl and gravity pulled it to earth!!!!!!!!!

Up up and away the bronze powerful rocket flew up into the sky. Past elegant green trees and the sparkling water. Further and further up it went until finally it was out of sight. Through the fluffy clouds and over the bright moon. Suddenly the rocket turned around and came flying back down faster than lightning and crashed against the muddy ground all of a sudden the rocket started up again and off it went.

A lovely attempt at describing the flight of the rocket. I like the use of imagery within your writing. We may have included an ellipses at the end in order to show that this could have occurred over and over again.

Today a brilliant lady came in to show our class how to make rockets from bottles,BOTTLES! She told us to look at a sheet and then she asked someone for a helper and of course she chose me.once she was finished with me she said we were ready to decorate our bottles(honestly i thought ours had less chance of killing anyone because ours stayed in the air the longest.as it flew into the sky it shined like a diamond.it carefully fell back down.Kayleigh thought of the our rockets name and it was THE SKY ZOOMER .I really enjoyed it.

A woman from bishop barrington came in to do some rocket building. I didn't do it I was the camera man. I took loads of pictures and we only had 30 minutes. After the 30 minutes we went outside and see who's went the highest and the first one flew up into the sky and that one went the highest. it WAS THE BEST DAY EVER!!!!!!!

Our rockets were made out of plastic bottles, which were decorated by ourselves in a special design. Ours had rainbow colours, with dots, dashes and swirls. The lady filled the bottles with water, so we had pressure in our rocket. Then we walked outside to begin our exciting challenge. We paused for a photoshoot beforehand. Releasing the lid from the bottle the lady attached a pipe from the pump and using our three sticks stuck the rocket into the ground. She pumped the water extremely hard and woooosch, the aerodynamic was awesome, as it flew up into the sky! It was a great experience, thankyou!

This morning which was Friday the 13th February 2015 a lady from Bishop Barrington came in and said that we where going to build some rockets using a bottle, sticks, paper, pens, scissors, and rulers. We where going to find out which rocket would fly the highest, so we made our rockets then went outside. As our rocket FLEW UP IN THE SKY instead of flying straight up ours flew on an angle so it flew up diagonally and then span back down. I don't think ours went the highest but it was defiantly the most unexpected. At least our rocket flew up.

On Friday 13th February, a lady from Bishop Barrington came to Escomb Primary School to talk to the year 5 pupils about rocket building. Once she had arrived she explained how to build a rocket and how it worked, the children were split into groups and had to design our rockets. I drew round the templates to create the fins. Our rocket was called the Sky Zoomer, after we had finished decorating our bottles they were filled up with water. Next when everyone's rockets were filled up with water we retrieved our coats to go and launch our rockets. When the rockets were launched, one by one they ...flew up into the sky...

Today has been a very interesting day for me. Let me tell you what has happened! As I, the great Sadie tiredly slipped on my pyjamas and was about to close my blinds. Unexpectedly, in the distance I saw something beautiful; gracefully glide across the fields beyond my glass window. Suddenly in a blink of an eye it FLEW UP INTO THE SKY, up and up it went until he disappeared. I waited a while to see if it would fly back down and it did! I focused my eyes on it, he was an owl a huge brown owl with immense gazing green eyes!!

I like how you have changed the story to fit the challenge words. This is a lovely piece of writing Sadie, I'm particularly impressed with the way it has been written. For example: As I, the great Sadie... This is wonderful!

On Saturday i went on a 1 hour walk round the bishop park, with one of my friends and one of Robbie friend,Sadie, and me, Finley and Robbie all ran ahead of my mam and dad. We found some big sticks to walk with. Also we brought our scooters to ride on.On the way home we spotted a plane as it flew up into the sky it started doing loop-d-loops and flip in the air it astonishing getting the experience to see that kind of thing. We got home and Sadie and Robbie went inside whilst me and Finley played basket ball,15 minutes later we went inside and had a hot chocolate with biscuits.IT WAS SO FUN

...flew up into the sky...

One sunny morning I went for a walk around the the block, which was about 2 miles,it was peaceful until cars started passing. As I walked on I felt something strange in my body...I flew up into the sky. As I flew up I got scared after a while I was up near the clouds, which were white and fluffy. I was struggling to breathe because I was so high up. I was soon in space I was really close to the sun it was boiling hot. I landed on mars I saw aliens with funny eyes soon I was back on the ground.

I was in the class bored until Mr.Turner shouted out we're going to have a nice surprise! The class burst out with excitement and then Mrs.Turner said that she is here. I Was curious on what we were doing because when the teacher came in she was she was holding 4 or 5
1litre bottles first we got to choose our own groups and then the the teacher talked about how aerodynamics work and then we got to design and create our on rockets. After we made them we taken them outside to the playground and filled up the 1litre bottle up with 1litre of Water and the the kind teacher pumped lots of air into the bottle and before I knew it, it flew up into the sky!

Today a lady from Bishop Barington secondary school came to work with us on building a rocket! Everybody was so excited, we all got very restless and started to talk about it. When we all quietend down the teacher explained to us what we needed to do. Soon after we were in groups of 6 and had started building our rocket. The rockets were built from a plastic bottle. We had to decorate it and attach 4 wooden chopsticks onto it. Kayleigh came up with the amazing name of The Sky Zoomer. After around half an hour we made our way outside to watch them take off. As it flew into the sky it spun around and then came back again landing on the field. Everyone on my team were very happy and we all cheered!
