As we know, the Bishop Auckland Food Festival is arriving this weekend. For those of you attending, I would like you to write a recount based on the event. What you saw, what you enjoyed etc. This needs to be written as a recount (therefore it could be a diary entry).

There are no challenge words this weekend but make sure you focus on our targets in class.

If you are not attending the festival then I would like you to complete part two instead.

Dear diary,
This weekend I went to the food festival. As I was walking down the road I could smell the delicious food being served there.as we walked into Auckland castle, I could see the stalls through the gaps in the gate. There were lots of people there, lining up in queues waiting to be served. 'Bishop Auckland food festival' signs (banners) were hanging from different stalls. Delicious food waits to be eaten inside the stalls. Unfortunately, we had to go. So my Dad and I walked back to the car and drove to pick my mam up.
I had a great weekend and enjoyed the food festival.

Dear Diary,

Todoy I've had a delicious day. The festival was an absolute blast! But before the big event I did one thing first. I had gotten ready for swimming and jumped into the car drove there and was tort (again) butterfly and while I was doing that my walked there. Moving on. I was there with my Sister,Mum, Dad,Cliff(grandad) and Jenny(grandma). The first thing I heard was a band and saw a huge trumpet. We walked around for a while and found a cheese stall and bought the most delicious cheader cheese. Then went around more and found and bought some lovely Damson jam, which tasted like strawberry with a hint of raspberry. Then had pizza for lunch had a snow cone went into the pod and that was it! IT WAS AMAZING!

On Saturday the 23rd April I went to Bishop Auckland Food Festival with both my mam and dad, and grandma and grandad. We set off and parked in the car park and walked from the main town centre towards the Castle grounds. on the way to the castle we past lots of craft tables (and I spied an emoji cushion). I also saw a large boar called bishop ( I think that's his real name).
We walked into the market place and I could smell lots of lovely delicious food....the further I walked the hungrier I got! I knew there was a pancake stall somewhere so continued to look until I found it.

Dear diary,
Today I attended the highly popular food festival down bishop auckland with my brother (Elliott) and my dad. Despite us going very early on that cold Saturday morning , there was still a good show of people who had attended to sample some fine food and beverage. My dad and I bought some fabulous food items such as meat, cake, chocolate, pizzas ( which was amazing ) and for me tropical lollipops. As I was looking at all the well created stalls I saw casper and my best friend from home Iben. This years food festival was amazing !!

The food festival was really good because the atmosphere was great and there was lots of free samples (shear greed). I bought quite a few different types of food such as : flapjack, rocky road, some really sour sweets (which I recommend trying) some strawberry bon-bons and some peri-peri chips. Down at the food festival I saw loads of people who I knew plus my next door neighbour. Just as usuall, there were lots of different stalls and not just all of them were sweets and food (well 99.9% of them were anyway). It was great at the food festival.
