100 word challenge #15

29/1/2016

This week we have part of a sentence. We need to think carefully before we start as we will need to know what the story is. The prompt is:

…but later that day…

Questions to ask:
  • What was happening beforehand?
  • Was the thing that happened good or bad?
  • Who was involved?
  • What happened next?

We have had a major focus on parenthesis and relative clauses/ pronouns over the last week or so. Please ensure you add these into your work to show me you can use them.

One day I was excited because I was going to Flamingo land in North Yorkshire. I was excited for the new ride which was a new rollercoaster based on motorbikes. SUDDENLY! Rain came pouring down. The weather forecast said it was suppose to be sunny, however we carried on to the park but we weren’t allowed on the rollercoaster’s; I was devastated!!! It rained all morning but then later that day the rain suddenly stopped and the sun came out. I eventually got to go on the new rollercoaster and it was very fast and scary but I loved it.

One day, a group of relatives (cousins, nieces, nephews’ aunties and uncles) went on holiday for a couple of weeks – they went to Spain – well, they were on their way to Spain...
BUT LATER THAT DAY when they arrived at the airport, something bad happened. They missed their plane! They misread their tickets. They went to the airport at one pm instead of one am! It was little baby Rita! She told dumb Diane (her mam) that she could read the time even though she is three. So in the end the family will go on holiday, about in...a year!

One day I went to Ian's to help him with the garden because the weeds were taking over. I started to dig them out but there were so many we needed an army to get the better of them, there was me and Lewis and Granny and Ian but they still kept growing. But later that day along came Dad with his magic fork and we were done in no time.
Ian was so pleased he got us all a Mac Donald's and Mac flurry with Coke and juice. I really enjoyed myself, especially having the burger and Mac flurry, ACE!

Mia and her friends went to dance class, while her mam was cleaning. Mia-at dance class-happily put on her shoes, when she realised that her shoe was missing... Back at home,Holly, Mia's mam, came across a shoe, I wonder who's that could be? As Mia got home, she sulked in disserpoint meant, she didn't get into the finals... But her friends did.
BUT LATER THAT DAY, Holly received a letter, it read,
I am very disserpointed with Mia so I will let her redo her exam hopefully with two shoes this time your sincerely Mrs Smith. As she jumped for joy, Mia was talking complete gibberish (made up words), or just mumbling something to herself.

It was a bleak winter in New York and the snow continued to fall throughout the day. Tim Haughton, a journalist for the NEw York news, sat looking out of his office window longingly staring at the white crisp snow as it lay on the chaotic streets of New York. His boss (Anna Smith) had given him a challenging deadline; to produce an interesting article before lunch time. Tim sat wondering what to write about, so decided to go and join the local school children who were happily playing in the snow, but later that day he realised that he had not wrote a single word. As time was pressing on, Anna was surely to come any minute for his article so he rushed back out into the cold bitter day and spoke to the first passerby. Upon listening to the poor homeless person and their daily struggles this gave Tim the idea for his article and future fundraising event.

At the weekend, my dad and I went for a walk to the woods. This time I chose our route. (it wasn’t the best route – as we got lost at one point)
As we got deeper into the woods it became muddy, very muddy. Our wood leads to the River Wear, so when I saw it, I knew that we were close.
There were thorn bushes and lots of mud (and I mean lots) It was so muddy, I fell over once again, so now I was covered in it, head to foot - it looked like I’d been rolling in it. When we reached the river we sat down and threw some pebbles. Then we set off home, but the road route this time and it started snowing.
We were so cold, and I was so tired, but later that day… as I looked out of my window, I saw so much mud on our drive, I realized I had left a trail all the way from the river!

In the car, on the way to Centre Parks, I was singing a song. The song was called "Firework" by Katie Perry and that gave me a brilliant thought - My dad and I could set of fireworks tonight if we were allowed. So we went ahead and set of some fireworks out the back. BUT LATER THAT DAY, the security came and we broke the LAW! After that they kicked us out of the site (which is not very good). After that day, we were charged a lot of money. In fact we were charged over £500. Now that's a lot of money.

One frosty morning I woke up and started shivering because there was no heating as I was camping (we only had blankets). I walked slowly out of my tent onto the crisp snow that laid down hard on the wet soggy grass. But later that day the snow slowly began to soak in the grass and the sun rose high in the sky - above the beautiful rainbow – with birds surrounding, from all around. As I was enjoying the wonderful view I began to feel little droplets of rain splashing in my face. So I ran back to my tent as fast as I could.

One stormy and soundless night, a boy lay waiting. His family had been taken away by tribes, notorious terrorists in the area. He had lost everything; his family, his home and everything he had ever had. In the middle of the Sahara, there was no decent resources. No food, no water, nothing. He began to walk, but soon realised it was no use. He settled Down and gazed at the stars all night... Later that day, after walking across scorching dunes, he spotted something in the distance. They looked familiar. When he recognised who it actually was, he nearly fainted. It was his family. They had come to find him! Although they weren't alive, they were ghosts...

One bright sunny afternoon I was out playing with my brother Tom. We were at the park on our scooters. Tom tried to do a 360 hop and jump turn (he slipped) and tumbled back down the ramp. Nobody was there to help us, so I quickly ran back to our house to tell Mam and Dad. As he was carried into the house I could see the bumps and cuts on him. But later that day Tom came to me and said do you want to go and play at the park, then Mam and dad shouted “NO WAY!”.

Early one morning, two young boys went for a stroll in the dark forest (it was still very dark) and they heard a drumming sound coming from under the ground, straight away both of the boys thought of the legend, where one boy went walking through this very jungle but a zombie jumped out coved in slime and goo and then killed him! The boys ran away and had a idea! They would come back later when it gets light, so they did just that, BUT LATER THAT a news flash appeared out of know where half way through a film (two more boys have gone missing.

My name Snake also known as big boss General of the secret Diamond dogs army. We are about to go on a mission to recover two African civilians, but later that day I found the two civilians we were looking for inside a military tent. Me and Quiet dropped all of the enemy’s off into the holding area before bringing them back to Mother base where Ocelot and Miller (Big Boss’s best friend) looked after the two Africans that had info that was exclusive to the enemy’s plans moving us a step closer to crushing Cyfer once and for all.

Have you ever lost something and thought you would never see it again? Yes? Well, this is the story for you. I was at dance and had a t-shirt that I really liked with me. I didn’t put it on as I had already got a top on and left (after dance). On Saturday my friend messaged me to say I had left it but later that day she brought it back to me. Now I think I will keep things I’m not using in my bag (after all I don’t want to lose anything else I like do I?)
